Stuck in Microcosm

This dichotomy of our existence as singular human beings and as parts of a larger community is very intriguing. While at some point in life, we live for ourselves, yet we derive inspiration through our connections with fellow humans, while at times this dynamic reverses.

The question here is how and why does my existence matter. What’s the meaning behind this microcosmic existence and how does it contribute toward coexistence universally?

When no one knows about me, how does it make a difference to the world? And if someone in the crowd recognizes me, how does it add meaning to my existence? Perhaps, our dreams that are singularly wrapped in our thoughts, are shared perspectives in an intertwined higher dimension. Otherwise, what else in the world would explain this ability to understand messages from individuals we never actually met?

Our paths are different, but our existence is shared. Shared by dreams, by thought processes, shared by the fact that we are all connected through emotions and that we at end serve one purpose, the purpose of humanity.

The next big question is what do I do with my existence? How do I bring comfort to myself while realizing the dreams we all share? When I think about it, I derive nothing. Because I’m just thinking about myself, when the challenge lies in painting the larger canvas of life. We are but individual hues contributing to the brilliance of life’s purpose.

We often engage in introspective dialogues and quite surprisingly are so much confident about a life that somewhat exists only as a piece of thought process in mental construct. Flash of inputs like these which often act as our intuition precisely govern the basic realization of our microcosmic existence. They remind us of our differential personality that is in a way part of the larger macrocosm, and is uniquely thriving.

In the vastness of humanity, the search for self-identity is a universal struggle. Personal aspirations frequently mirror the reality we wish to escape, reimagined and reshaped. And in the process, it’s easy to become the sum of our negative experiences and to forget who we truly are.

Picture yourself, seeking out to conquer the why of your existence. Try capturing your whole space with a big smile instead of that negative demeanor of why me. Find the tranquility you often lose in life's hurried chaos. Yes, there it is! The perfectly radiating aura of yours.

I know it’s a long journey, and you and me together await all the reasons for feeling this very way. Pacifying the thirst of all these unending questions is a tough task, after all.

This is precisely where your individual existence becomes significant. Eventually, you will find clarity. What matters is that you are going to get the inner calling. Fear will hold your hand and yet you will be standing tall embracing your existence. And, you will be prepared; to navigate the purpose of your life. All it takes is just a tiny spark of whisper in your heart: “You’ve got this!”

The ‘what ifs’ of our existence is a perpetual cycle of soul secrets that explores the very origins of life. Realizing the meaning of existence in the process of living is the end goal.

Our connection to our external world, the persistent will to make a change, and the overlapping sense of helplessness that kind of deters our passion, often leave us with self-criticism, ultimately causing us to question our very existence. We feel lost, devoid of feeling. Even when there is a rage of emotions piled up, even as our hearts race with the desire to achieve a sense of belonging; we feel only but our null existence.

Our understanding of who we are, manifests perception. A perception that paves way for our identities that was long yearned for.

Paradise’ is a song by BTS (Bangtan Boys) that really speaks to the feeling of being stuck in microcosm. Gently pushing back against the subdued pressure of consistently chasing a dream or moving forward, this musical escapade transcends the definition of microcosmic existence in a beautiful way. “There’s no need to run without knowing the reason,” hits you hard — especially when you’re stuck in microcosm. For most of us, it’s a reminder that it’s okay to pause, introspect and take a breath, to not have everything figured out. ‘Paradise’ feels like a quiet reassurance that getting stuck or feeling lost is not failure — it’s part of the journey.

“Sometimes you feel like the world has stopped and you’ve lost your way. It wasn’t as if you could blame anyone and you must have been frustrated. You’re the same as you were yesterday, but the world seems to change as if you are transported to a parallel world.”
